Alessandro Fiorin Damiani
Musician, Musictherapist and Tarot-Reader; co-founder of projects like KRAJOBRAZ, KIMIKOVA and DENSO association. In 1996, he began to experiment with the analogic language of the sound and, since 2003, he's keeping session of etnomusictherapy, combined with Tarot, in the ambit of mental health. The directly lived experience of psycho-ritual trance brought him to an holotropic image of the music. He opened gigs of COLOSSAMITE, THE FLYNGLUTTENBACHERS, US MAPLE, LAIBACH and WITHEHOUSE. He's also turnist for TEATRO SATANICO.
Davide Lorenzon
Born in Vittorio Veneto in 1980 he started play clarinet at the age of 8; then at twelve he changed for alto sax. He plays regularly in the improvising orchestra Improvvirusoundexperience, in L'imbroglio trio with Lucio Bonaldo and Gi Gasparin and in the Nezara Viridula quartet. He also organized several experimental concerts with Feedback association.

The performance consists in an extemporary composition inspired by a successsion of four chords made by a synthetiser(MiniMoog Voyager RME). The electronic sequence will determine the armonic borders of the acoustic improvisation (alto sax and percussions) that will be processed live by analogic filters (Moogergooger).

1-La Jovenc’s music draws from the mid 20th century genius of Billie Holiday to contemporary genius of Bjork. The mix of influences ranges from Stockhausen, Gorecki, Ligeti and Britten to Eno, Scott and Reich and extends to Hendrix, Matmos and Mingus.
But not only musical influences. Literature, paintings, colours, perfume and life experience have all shaped the musical output.
Experimental, electronic, sometimes jazzy, sometimes concrete but always warm ritual and apocryphal.

SAUM: pure and primitive music tecnique rolled into an amplified state of buttons.
Rhythm pulled into ways to create landscapes and walls sounding.
The last project of SAUM billed into an old KINDER GARTEN kichen it’s made out by driving single strokes into frequences to show the massive rest of decandence “Kids eating Kids destroing”.

SAUM Projekt born in Berlin in 2007 year with intention to take short performance inside any place of city (video references to a performance took inside the “Kunst International Temporary Art center” ”KITA”, Belrin, www.k-ita.de), precisely in the old kitchen of what was the “kinder garten”.
ABSTRACT:
From Active space (ex.KITA) to dismissed Area (es.old train station) capturing sound and reinterpreatating this using contact microphone and bi-naural mic succeed to play structure re-processing these sound.
The used also of handmade Noise synthetizer add “voice” to the act.
Video complete the performance, is a real time video reactive in relation with frequency range built with opens source software “Processing”).

EXEAIO (Draw 01)
Progetto sperimentale di ricerca audiovisiva.
Punto focale della performance è quello di generare una dimensione, dove
immagine e suono tracciano percorsi sensoriali. Gli elementi, tradotti in un
codice ben preciso disegnano coordinate di tempo e spazio,nel tentativo di
penetrare e destabilizzare la sfera percettiva dello spettatore.
L'innovazione tecnica non sempre comporta un'innovazione del linguaggio,
è per questo che la ricerca da cui parte questo progetto, oltre all'utilizzo e la
sperimentazione di nuovi media, mira essenzialmente a mostrare la capacità
comunicativa e il potenziale poetico che sono propri dell'immagine e del suono,
quando l'uno diviene il complemento dell'altro.
Brevi note biografiche:
Il progetto nasce a Bologna nel 2006 dalla collaborazione tra Kuri.O e 8080.
I due componenti benché già attivi individualmente nella scena bolognese
e italiana, si presentano in questa formazione per la prima volta dal vivo.

Michele Spanghero
A Short-lived Fault In The System
«Oggi, il Rumore trionfa e domina sovrano sulla sensibilità degli uomini.» L. Russolo, L’arte dei rumori (1913)
Il progetto A Short-lived Fault In The System nasce da un percorso musicale ispirato a Luigi Russolo nella ricorrenza del sessantesimo anniversario dalla sua scomparsa.
Il materiale sonoro alla base del lavoro è un campionamento di un silenzio tratto da una sintesi futurista. Lo strepitio e l’usura del vinile della registrazione hanno trasformato questo silenzio di fatto in un rumore. Dalla constatazione di questa semplice ma paradossale evidenza, si è sviluppato il progetto A Short-lived Fault In The System: utilizzare ed anzi amplificare (sonoramente e concettualmente) questo ossimoro acustico in una composizione in cui rumore e suono fossero indistinguibili lavorando anche sul contrasto tra differenti media e tecnologie.
Il rumore delle distorsioni analogiche del supporto audio vinilico interagisce perciò con corrispondenti suoni derivati da alterazioni ed interferenze sonore digitali, i cosiddetti glitches (a cui si riferisce il titolo tratto dalla definizione che Wikipedia dà di glitch: “un errore di breve durata nel sistema”). Similmente il video deriva dall’analisi dello spettro sonoro attraverso un sistema analogico di disturbi, interruzioni ed errori nel segnale dell’immagine facendo così del difetto e dell’imperfezione il movente estetico e il tema dell’opera. Anche il televisore viene utilizzato – etimologicamente – come fonte sonora di glitches attraverso i suoni emessi dal tubo catodico mentre produce le distorsioni derivate dal suono: filtrando il segnale acustico dell’apparecchio si crea così una sorta di feedback visivo indotto dal suono della tv stessa.

Unsound Zero è un progetto di musica sperimentale elettroacustica del contrabbassista Michele Spanghero.
Dopo un tour in Italia l'esperienza Unsound Zero è culminata nella partecipazione al festival internazionale All Frontiers 2005 (a fianco ad Alvin Curran, Scanner, Vincent Courtois ed altri artisti - informazioni su www.moremusic.it) con un concerto per contrabbasso elettroacustico solo.
L’approccio metodologico e formale definisce e caratterizza questo progetto: il gesto tecnico esecutivo astrae lo strumento acustico dalla sua consueta processualità al punto che il contrabbasso viene spesso utilizzato in posizione orizzontale o lasciato risuonare in larsen.
Nella composizione Desmodrone il contrabbasso viene lasciato risuonare in un feedback controllato, filtrato e modulato in tempo reale. La tessitura sonora si dilata e si stratifica attraverso onde sinusoidali intonate sulla nota fondamentale del larsen del contrabbasso di modo da creare variazioni microtonali e battimenti.

Questo progetto nasce dalla contaminazione tra tre forme artistiche quali la danza contemporanea, la musica elettronica e la visual art. B-Light ha come caratteristica l'utilizzo del realtime process, una manipolazione performativa realizzata attraverso dispositivi digitali di interfaccia uomo-macchina che attuano un'autogestione e costruzione del senso comunicativo nel dialogo tra performer - visual director - audio director, portati ad interagire a seconda dei loro impulsi e modalità creative.
B-Light getta le basi per una performance che non è più rappresentazione, ma interfaccia collettiva e attiva, che abbandona la forma del prodotto per diventare puro processo. Non ha quindi importanza la tecnologia in se, ma la sua capacità di attivare meccanismi di interazione concreta fra individui e strumenti tecnologici e fra individui stessi, convergendo sul processo di costruzione di spazi comunicativi e performativi che siano motivo di riflessione critica sul Sé e sul rapporto con la realtà.
L'happening inizia con l'improvvisazione corporea della performer. Lo schermo di proiezione è buio ma una volta accesi i due led e puntati sull'area di partecipazione, vedremo comparire dei giochi di luce che illumineranno il corpo della performer e mostreranno sullo schermo la sua stessa immagine digitalmente rielaborata. Dalla consolle audio il musicista da il via ad una sperimentazione sonora che interpreterà in tempo reale le dinamiche della performance.
Attraverso il video processing, ogni soggetto colpito dalla luce dei led va ad impressionarsi sullo schermo e a con-fondersi al precedente, generando composizioni di forme e colori digitalizzati in un ambiente "fotosensibile" creato dalla stessa gestualità dei partecipanti.
Progressivamente l'area di partecipazione viene aperta anche al pubblico che, dotato dei led, potrà interagire con la performer autogestendo il proprio processo creativo. L'intento è di generare contesti di inter-azione in cui i fruitori possono dare vita spontaneamente e collettivamente all'evento artistico e, attraverso l'azione, costruire attivamente il senso dell'opera.

Headvision bio: Headvision is a Media Art project of Roberto Zitolo, born in Turin (Italy) in 1980 and graduate in 2006 to the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna (Italy).
The concept faces one (re)view of media language across the same, against the models, styles and techniques of linear communication. From 2004 Headvision promotes hybridization of means and fusion of expressive platforms, placing the search on the interaction between visual art, communication and digital technology. This project deconstructed and overturns more contexts of the mass media for create another levels of communication: reuses elements of well-known media it generate a new work with a different message, often one opposed to the original meaning and out from any content of the original source material. Headvision's project expanding in a digital art for creating audio/video instruments for interactive performance, video installation, and video recorded work.

Eniac biografia:
Fabio Battistetti
Eniac è un progetto musicale (umano/elettronico) di Fabio Battistetti, iniziato nel 1998 come sperimentazione a bassa fedeltà: riciclando campionamenti ed assemblando loop con nastri e synths, era un lavoro di ricerca sul campionamento e sulla loro rielaborazione (distorsione). Il progetto si è successivamente evoluto in una struttura più concreta e musicale, tramite l'utilizzo di sofware ed hardware, in interazione con altri strumenti musicali; oggi è un set, in continua evoluzione, di musica electro: dal glitch melodico all'esplosione di ritmi. Eniac, continua a "svilupparsi:" ricerca nuovi approcci alla forma canzone, partendo dai cut up, ed utilizzando forme avanzate di djing, utilizzando in modo flessibile strumenti digitali (computers) come strumenti analogici (acustici), con un etica molto vicina al diy ed all'open source.

The group was born in 1999, we are from Macerata (Italy), we are Alessandro Bracalente, Massimo Marini, Mauro Mezzabotta, Riccardo Maccari, Emanuele Sagripanti.
We make experimental music using electric and electronic instruments, various percussions and we use to create performances mixing theatre and electronics arts.
Our culture is eclectic but we mainly take inspiration from rock music, ambient, industrial, dadaism and expressionist theatre.
We often work with the experimental theater author Marco Di Stefano and the dancer Tanya Kabarova from Derevo.
2) MAMTRIANGO
We played an electronic noise music track wile a camera was posed in front of Emanuele (the drummer).
Emanuele's face was painted black with red and green signes. The filmed faces was filtered by a special V.J. Software that changes and mix effects, following the beat of the music.
We used mainly different modulations of luma Keyer effect, that captures only the most brigthing colors that stay impressed on the screen, so when Emanuele moved, he can create abstracts signes on the monitor behind him, mixed with his face image.
The other musicians were dressed black in a dark scene.
You can see only the faces of musicians and the big screen.

Karas is a performative group formed by Leonardo Boldrin and Serena Borgatello in 2005.
Leonardo Boldrin was born in Mestre-Venice in 1980, Serena Borgatello was born in Mestre-Venice in 1983. They both live and study in Mestre-Venice (Italy).
Karas studies the interaction of music and video using digital live medias.
Before forming the group Karas, Serena & Leonardo had a group with a third guy, and they participated as “group Luther Blisset” to the 12° edition of the BJCEM, in Naples in 2005, with the video “Sub_Liminal”, and to the event “Action in Media” in Rome in 2006.
In 2006, Karas participated to the “Notte Bianca” in Mestre, with the live performance “Cellular Glitch”; to the Biennale of Architecture of Venice with the performance “Antimateria”, performed in Venice-Giudecca at the CZ95 Cultural Centre and to the “ArteFiera” in Padua.
In 2007, Karas participated to the 52° edition of the International Biennale of Art of Venice with the performance “Antimateria” and to the event “Changing Time-Tempo Mutevole” in Venice.
Leonardo Boldrin has graduated at the Academy of fine arts of Venice in 2006, and now he studies Composition and New Technologies at the Conservatoire of Music “Benedetto Marcello” of Venice. In may 2007 he participated at “10x1”, a collective concert of 10 young composers for piano. In july 2007 his piece “Interazioni” for piano, disklavier and digital sound was selected and played for the vernissage of the exhibition “Artempo” at Palazzo Fortuny in Venice.
In September 2007 his piece “Echi” for voice and live electronics was played at the event “Comodamente” at Vittorio Veneto.
Serena Borgatello has graduated in 2006 in Chemical Sciences and Technologies for Conservation and Restoration at University Ca’ Foscari of Venice. Now she studies for the second level degree in Chemical Sciences for Conservation and Restoration at University Ca’ Foscari of Venice.
Serena is interested in science of combining colours with different media, expecially with the video, and she studies in her works the theory of chaos.
“Antimateria” (duration approx. 30 min.) is a live digital media act, an audio/video performance in real time that develops the evolution of the matter and of his representation.
This digital live media act takes place in 3 moments, approx 10 min. each: the first part explores simple geometric shapes in the space. The video, controlled in live time with a controller midi, shows simple solid figures in wireframe, such as pyramids and cubes, that interact with the music.
In the second part the matter, interacting with the space, evolves in a corpuscular structure, then, in the third part it evolves in an urban structure.
The music of “Antimateria”, all controlled in live, is formed by both syntetic and sampled sound.
The music can be optionally diffused by two or four speakers.
“Antimateria” is realized both for the video part and the music part using algorithmic patches developed on Max/MSP/Jitter.
This is an extract from the performance of 30 min.

BIOGRAFIA DEL GRUPPO:
NellaTestaGomma è un gruppo di recente formazione, composto da Dario Amoroso, Nicola Di Roma, Mariano Felisio, Gabriele Gravagna, Giuseppe Stellato, cinque giovani artisti provenienti da ambiti diversi (arti visive, musica, teatro), ma che si fondono e diventano di volta in volta complementari, per dare forma a un’idea.
DESCRIZIONE TECNICA E ARTISTICA DEL LIVE:
Santa Fanta è una performance live che mette in relazione musica, effetti sonori e immagini in movimento.
Il suono modulato di chitarre e le atmosfere ora frenetiche, a tratti pacate e drammatiche dei sintetizzatori, descrivono lo scenario proiettato su un grande schermo, dove la realtà urbana incontra la calma della natura. L’occhio di una telecamera scruta il pubblico, giocando con le luci per creare scie luminose suggestive. Il suono di un carillon e una lieve pioggia evocano qualcosa di familiare, puntando dritto verso i nostri ricordi, in uno spazio riservato al passato, forse all’infanzia. Ma il presente è qualcosa di più crudo. E l’uomo è il diretto responsabile.

ALESSANDRO OLLA
Prolific and multi-faceted artist, Alessandro Olla has invested a major part of his creative effort in transgressing musical formalities and academicism. His skills forged in classical studies that included piano, composition and electronics, he was soon tempted by the possibilities of the freest slopes of sonic creation, entering into the turbulent but exciting fields of improvisation, experimentation and risk-taking electronics. In the course of those trips he has been able to count on the collaboration of major figures of the most uncompromising musical activism: Tim Hodgkinson, David Shea, David Toop, Marc Ribot, Jean Marc Montera, Llorenc Barber, Elio Martusciello, Victor Nubla, Z’EV .As a result of this fertile curiosity and of his aim of dissolving the prison walls surrounding different disciplines, the work of Alessandro Olla started spreading, as of a decade ago, in multiple directions. Those directions have led to his involvement in projects that incorporate visual and scenic factors such as speakers (creations for films and theatre and dance shows, performances), to express the poetical and sonorous possibilities of objects and matter, or to rediscover certain physical phenomena (gravitation, oscillation, inertia) through the eye of a bold conjurer. The result of this investigation is a work that extracts from risk and experimentation a range of experiences, bright and immediate, that make out of the ‘every-day’ something continuously rediscoverable.
Signorafranca short bioagraphy:
Signorafranca is a duo born by the meeting of MicheleCasanova and Marcello Cualbu, both from cagliari and coming from different experiences in audio and video environments.
Their union materializes different audio video livesets and brings to life signorafranca.com netlabel. The attenction of the two performers first focuses on the interaction between concrete music and video mixing, passing through different styles of electronic music and video
performances. The guys starts up different solo projects published on their netlabel together with the ones of other producers; signorafranca.com shows up now 37 releases by italian,
lituan and swedish producers that make different kind of electronic music.
More recently, they collaborate with Alessandro Olla, with whom they make video performances interacting with the musician’s theatrical audio installations.

Invisible lands is a performance of experimental electronic music and live videoart ideated and played by Alessandro Olla (composer and musician) and “signorafranca” (videoartistes).
Original composition are played live on different kind of musical instruments: electronic, traditional and electroacustic ones, laptop, sound object.
Both audio and video, starts with primary elements.Meanwhile the audio uses selfmade
mechanical instruments,the videos starts with elements as basic as the audio ones,
move to environments more and more anthropized, passing throught architectonics modules
and new abitative structures recalls.
The performance has its roots in the wide and varied field of original expressive codes, wich deliberately avoid the logical of cultural consumerism as well as from stock genre connotations, with the intention to explore unusual ways of organizing different languages and to critically involve the spectators.

The track you find here is taken from Nefelodhis, an album about the concept of clouds made in collaboration between MB Maurizio Bianchi and Sparkle in Grey, available on Cold Current and MCL labels.
Usually Sparkle in Grey was a solo project of Hue (aka Der Einzige, Normality/Edge) which mixed electronic rhythms and melodies with field recordings, but now it's a four men band.
They're often playing live and they recorded, with Giuseppe Ielasi, the A Quiet Place album, a CD made of minimal rhythms, melancholic melodies, field/objects recordings and some noise, as the usual style of Sparkle in Grey, which is going to be issued in 2008.
One official album (with Hue only) is available on Afe, called The Echoes of Thiiings, plus many mp3 releases in the Sparkling Sodality Releases and on ctrl+alt+canc and sine3pm netlabels.

L'ambiente sonoro rimane impattante ma non privo di "spazi di quiete" e di "momenti di passaggio". Cercando di smontare la "scatola tecnologica" - svelandone il contenuto - per ri-creare un senso.

Paolo Calzavara [pax~] si muove nell'ambito della musica elettronica ed elettroacustica, del sound design e dell'improvvisazione libera (www.feteforeign.com), dando un ruolo precipuo al suono ed alla sua immanenza, sia nella propria attività artistica che nel proprio approccio con la realtà.
Uno dei suoi attuali ambiti di ricerca è indirizzato alle potenzialità di autogenerazione del suono in alcuni oggetti "trashware". [pax~] produce e riprocessa dal vivo suoni e frequenze attraverso apparecchi appositamente modificati in generatori, virtualizzando la stessa struttura su laptop. Apparecchiature costruite in origine non per produrre musica, ma per esserne attraversate, in tal modo assumono una nuova identità e una nuova funzione.
Una struttura modulare aperta e liberamente plasmabile, dove lo stesso segnale elettrico è contemporaneamente ciò che si ascolta e ciò che funge da segnale di controllo.

Pierluigi Carossino, classe '85, propone un set strumentale basato su una ricerca sulle musiche dei videogiochi, con un occhio di riguardo agli anni Ottanta, filtrato attraverso l'estetica hip-hop: sul suo tavolo trovano posto drum machines, sintetizzatori, campionatori, giradischi ed ovviamente consolle di videogames, "d'epoca" e contemporanee.
Nel 2006 è invitato da FYC (Forum for Young Citizens) Eurocities per un progetto-residenza a Dusseldorf.
Nel 2007 partecipa come artista invitato al progetto Giovani Artisti Italiani: Gemine Muse. Alla rassegna "From the concrete music to the object sound", e per tutta l'estate ha suonato in giro nelle isole della laguna in veri e propri happening elettronici.

Interno3 - Laura Riolfatto e Manuel Frara - è un progetto nato a Venezia nel 1996.
Attraverso lo studio e l'analisi dell'immagine digitale e dei codici di compressione, del raccordo narrativo e della forma racconto, il lavoro di ricerca si esemplifica nell'utilizzare contemporaneamente insiemi e sottoinsiemi decostruiti, rimodulando la scelta narrativa legata alla dissezione dei riti.
Tra gli ultimi progetti livemedia realizzati "Glitch Fitness Machine", uno studio per una suite di 25 minuti a doppio canale, presentata ad "Architetture Urbane" di Padova e in occasione di "Torture Garden" - a cura di Paolo Toffolutti - allo SPAC (Spazio per l'Arte Contemporanea) di Udine nel 2006.
Nel febbraio 2007 hanno presentato al DIVA (Digital Video Art Fair) di New York, il progetto in solo: "Blowbacks".

FRANCESCO DI FIORE BIOGRAPHY
Francesco Di Fiore, pianist and composer was born in Palermo, Italy in 1966.
He has begun his concert career as solist pianist and different ensembles.
After the studies at the "Vincenzo Bellini" Conservatory of Palermo, he continued his piano
studies with Bruno Canino in Italy and in Austria with Harald Ossberger. For various years he has studied composition with Eliodoro Sollima.
Thanks to a scholarship offered from the Czech Governament, in the 1993 he moved to Prague, Czech Republic, untill 1995 studying at the Academy of Music with professor Peter Toperczer.
In May '92 he is absolute winner at the piano competition "Borgo Cortello" in Udine, Italy. In August 1993 he wins the "XV Internationales Kammermusik Festival Austria Waldviertel" in Horn, Austria.
Thanks to his concert career started in 1986 he has performed in the greater italian places ad also in other foreign countries (Germany, Hungary, Czech Rep., Austria, United States, France).
Francesco Di Fiore is author of numerous compositions for piano solo, piano and orchestra, chamber music, vocal music, electronic and stage music for the spoken theatre.
Between his more representative compositions we remember The Manhattan Suite, Vacuum Concerto, The West Coast Point Of Wiew, Strati, e the multimedia work "Visioni", for piano and electronics plus video. His music is often performed in Italy and abroad, recentely in Germany, Croatia, Spain, France, Finland and United States.
LIVE DESCRIPTION
“Visioni" is the new creation by the italian composer/performer Francesco Di Fiore.
This project, for live piano and electronics, is connected to a video that will be synchronised to the music for the all duration of the performance.
This musical course is developed through 8 chapters of an illustrated book, a meditation on the universe, on the life, on the travel of the humanity.
It is a "note movie" with an "imagetrack" made by pictures and lights.
Every episode are a reflection: on the origin of the life (la cellula/the cell), on the mankind evolution (il viaggio/the travel), on the beauty of the nature and its shapes (geometrie/geometries), on the modern civilization (metropoli), on the art and the genius (odranoeL), on the exasperation of the technology, “the digital age” (rush), on the decline of the civilization (rovine/ruins) and on the extinction that prelude to the rebirth (crepuscolo/twilight).
It's difficult to define a genre. Postminimal music with jazz tints and electronics.
Visioni has been booked by the NWEAMO San Diego Festival (California), by the
Cagliari Jazz Expo 2007 (Sardinia), by Kenny’s Castaways (Manhattan); it has been included in the sicilian artists compilation presented at the Womex 2007 in Siviglia (Spain).

1. Brevi note biografiche e curriculum artistico:
Mario D'Andreta plays his experiments in the field of concrete and acousmatic music, manipulating field recordings of urban places, seeking for effects of extrangement through the use of the habitual pattern of everyday sounds and plays improvised music for prepared piano. He lives and works in Rome.
At the present he's working on different projects:
- Alien City Spleen, an alien exploration of the globalisation through the sound oh the world, with reworked sounds of human places
- Atlante SOnoro, a collection of soundscapes of Italian and European cities and towns
- G-wine, an abstract soundscape from the movie MOndovino by Jonathan Nossiter
- Coriolano Noise, improvised free music for prepared piano, sounds objects, electric bass, clarinet, bass clarinet, soprano and tenor saxes with Renato Ciunfrini
- Ciunfrini/D’Andreta/Giuffre, improvised free music for prepared piano, sounds objects, electric bass, clarinet, bass clarinet, soprano and tenor saxes and prepared electric guitar with Renato Ciunfrini and Filippo Giuffrè
- nOiTz , industrial and electronic noise sounds with annabolena a.k.a. Antonella Pintus (next release on idroscalo rec)

Matter was born in 2000 by Fk Drone and fmchloroform. His music explores territories of ambient isolationism and electronic music. Drones and field recordings compose siderales atmospheres, the empty and the attraction - at the same time - syntonize the mind towards altered frequencies directions. Electronics rhythms are inserted over the time, emphasizing the edge behind isolation and single social entity. FkDrone and fmchloroform, after several experimental and punk-wave records on 4 tracks cassette recorder, decide to record Alphaville under the moniker Womb with a badly working computer, and it is a mixsture of instrumental improvvisation, drones and fields recordings, dedicated to genius of Jan Luc Godard. In 2006 the netlabel Sinewaves (sine3pm) releases Last Lands Sonology and in the 2007 Decrease of Contamination. Matter is an electronic and experimental duo in constant evolution.
